A thing I’ve been making for the past few days/hours.

OK. This is so irritating.

Many of you are hating on Korra for crying in the finale episode for losing her bending and being able to “control being in the avatar state although aang took years to master it” as you put it.

First of all, she’s crying because by losing her bending, she’s losing a part of herself. You never complained about Lin crying when her bending was taken away, so why Korra? She’s allowed to cry if she wants. She was born always knowing she was the avatar and knew her destiny was to help people, and she’s sad because she won’t be the same person. She’s crying because she let herself down; she let every avatar that has ever existed down and she would have been the very last avatar if it wasn’t for Aang and the rest helping her.

Second, Korra has not “mastered” the avatar state. This was the first time she has ever been introduced to that kind of state of mind and she has definitely not mastered it. As Aang said, she was able to see them because she has reached her lowest point and she was able to restore peoples’ bending because every avatar that ever existed helped her to regain that power. That does not mean she reached that point of spirituality herself, and she does not control it like Aang did. 

Stop being so critical, something that seemed terrible to you may not be bad in the first place..
